Ksplice Awarded Support of NLnet Foundation

Cambridge, Mass.—January 26, 2009—Ksplice announced today that it has been awarded a €30,000 grant (about $40,000 USD) from the NLnet Foundation in support of its activities to make Linux the first mainstream operating system in the world that does not require reboots for security updates.

The NLnet Foundation supports innovative work on open platforms, such as the GNU/Linux operating system. The foundation’s funding comes from donations, legacies, and interest on a substantial own capital formed in 1997 by the sale of the first Dutch Internet Service Provider.
